Los Alcornocales Natural Park

This vast park covers 167,767ha from Tarifa in the south to the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park in the north. It is named after its handsome and beautifully kept cork tree grove, the largest in the Iberian Peninsula and one of the most important ones in the world.

Hotel Casa Convento La Almoraima, Castellar

Outside Nueva Castella village and on the edge of the La almoraima estate is the Hotel Casa Convento La Almoraima. The woods that lead up the the historic hotel are open to the public and a car park is provided to explore the woods on a couple of marked forest paths. The hotel which was a convent is constructed around a centra courtyard. ther eis a bar and a restaurant open to the public.

Zoo Castellar NaturaParc

The animal rescue center started in 1998 as a private initiative. Four years later, in 2002, it opened to the public. The initiative began to be custodian of helpless animals who deserve to live with the best possible care. In the zoo there is a veterinary clinic that it is essential to have the best technical and human resources for a complete diagnosis of their animals.

La Almoraima Estate / La Finca Almoraima

The  La Almoraima estate in Castellar de la Frontera occupies 14.000 hectares and is one of the largest estates in Spain. Agriculture, forestry, cork, hunting and tourism are main industries on the estate. A vast quantity of cork is produced from the cork oak trees, quercus suber which are stripped of bark each summer on a seven year rotation. The estate lies within the Parque Natural Los Acornocales.

Castellar de la Frontera

The old village of Castellar de la Frontera is perched high on a hilltop in the province of Cadiz, with commanding views over the Guadarranque reservoir. The village is easiest reached from the A-405 road that leaves the coast at San Roque, branching off to Castellar on the (CA-P-5131) after just 10 kilometers.

La Almoraima Hotel

Almoraima Hotel is a restored 17th century convent offering stylish accommodation in a tranquil setting. The chic rooms feature modern décor. Some look onto the central courtyard and some have a traditional fireplace. La Gañania restaurant serves Mediterranean cuisine, with an emphasis on different meats and products from La Almoraima Estate.
