Real Club de Golf Las Brisas

This Robert Trent Jones design opened in 1969 and is recognised as one of Europe's finest courses. It hosted the World Cup twice and the Spanish Open three times and as well as the Mediterranean Open. Water is a major feature and must be crossed or avoided on 12 holes.

Greenlife Golf

Opened in 2007, this course is part of the luxury development surrounding the Villa Padierna Hotel. It complements its sister course, Flamingos Golf, both of which were designed by architect Antonio García Garrido. With a length of 6,600 metres, it is one of the few Par-73 courses on the Costa del Sol.

Club de Golf El Candado

Candado Golf Course is a challenge for all standards of golfer. Short, 9-hole course five kilometres east of Málaga. Undulating course with small greens overlooking the sea and surrounding countryside.

Aqua Velis Park Torre del Mar

One of the largest, splashiest water-parks in the province, located in Torre del Mar. There are 21 different rides to choose from, including some super-fast slides (an 80m-high kamikaze), soft foam slides, dinghy river ride and a paddling pool for young children (and parents!). Not forgetting the wave pool and lagoon.

Jardin Americano

This botanical garden is full of species donated by countries in the Americas for Expo 92, and is divided into different areas, including palms, cacti (look out for the prickly pear, with its yellow flowers and reddish-yellow fruit), tropical and sub-tropical plants. Many succulents and other plants.

Jardines del Guadalquivir

Built more as a traditional park, this is very close to the Jardin Americano, but you need to know exactly how to get there, it’s not signposted (which means it’s quiet and little-visited): leave through the gate at the lake end, turn left walk and along next to the cycle lane.

Plaza del Cristo de Burgos

This large square is located close to the "Mushrooms", or Metropol Parasol, heading towards Plaza Ponce de Leon. It stretches from Plaza San Pedro and Calle Almirante Apodaca, south to calle Descalzos in the Alfalfa district.

Paseo de Cristobal Colon

Back in Columbus' time the river here would be crowded with boats, nowadays the occasional tourist steamer chugs by or pedal boat. But it is still the most charming paseo which during the weekends is thronging with strolling lovers and Spanish families dressed in their Sunday best. The view across the river is quite beautiful with a row of typical Andaluz houses with wrought iron balconies.

Flagellation Chapel

Casa de Pilatos, like many palaces, has its own chapel. The oldest room in the palace, this has both Muslim and Christian elements, with a wide entrance arch finely decorated with Mudejar plasterwork. It has the only tile skirting board in the palace, and one of a few in Seville made using the cuerda seca (dry string) technique.

Plaza Nueva

This tree-lined square is the heart of Seville - located at the top of Avenida de la Constitucion, it sits centrally between the shopping area, Arenal and the river, Alfalfa, and the monumental zone and is home to the Ayuntamiento, the Town Hall.

Real Fabrica de Tabacos

When visitors see the magnificent baroque entrance to this vast stone building, most assume they're looking at yet another of Seville's palaces or grand residences. In fact, its origins are more prosaic: a tobacco factory, albeit one of Spain's largest buildings.

Upper Floor - The Palatial Residence

The upper floor can only be visited as part of a 30-minute guided tour which departs at regular intervals in different languages. The rooms on the upper floor form part of the private residence and include paintings dating from the 16th to the 19th centuries.

Casa Rosa

Casa Rosa is a pretty, candy-pink French-style villa with magnificent gardens at the far end of Parque Maria Luisa. The house was part of the vast estate of Palacio San Telmo, which was occupied in the second half of the 19th century by the Duke and Duchess of Montpensier.
