The Kimpton Musik Fest is an intimate lifestyle and music event hosted at Kimpton Los Monteros Marbella. The "last dance" to the summer season on the Costa del Sol.

Juanma Caravana of the Estepona Athletics Club won the first Estepona Costa del Sol Full Marathon in 2 hours, 46 minutes and 43 seconds, after leading the race for most of the way. Sonja Alcalá from Jimena de la Frontera won the women's category in 3 hours 7 minutes 1 second, also leading all the way.

The Marbella International Film Festival has been held annually since 2006. It is traditionally held for a week in mid-September and provides a venue for encouraging artists from all parts of the world.

On 1 November, Tosantos (a contraction of todos los santos, or "all the saints") is celebrated throughout Andalucia, particularly in the villages of Cadiz and Malaga. It is traditional to visit the cemetery and place flowers or light candles on the graves of departed loved ones.

The annual Niños de Mariposa (Butterfly Children) Gala is organised in Marbella by DEBRA, the global charity which raises funds to provide respite for the families of EB (Epidermolysis Bullosa) sufferers, and for research into cures, medication and treatments. The gala held at Aloha Golf Resort.

The Butterfly Children Gala (Gala Piel de Mariposa) is one of Marbella’s most enduring summer charity events, held annually in support of DEBRA Piel de Mariposa. Founded in Marbella in 1993, DEBRA Spain is the national non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB)—a rare, painful genetic condition that leaves skin as fragile as a butterfly's wing.
