Parador de Granada Hotel
Originally the Nasrid Palace of Los Infantes, this was converted into the Franciscan convent of San Francisco under Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand soon after their reconquest of Granada. Now a hotel, part of the state-owned Parador chain, it is one of Spain’s most privileged locations to stay. Guests can wander around the Alhambra complex at night (not in the palaces, obviously) after all the visitors have left, and then return to the hotel’s serene, arcaded courtyards and terrace restaurant with fabulous views over the Generalife gardens and Sierra Nevada mountains.
