The tourist office is conveniently located on Calle Cuesta de Belén, 5 which is the road you are likely to walk up, having parked you car in the underground car park at Paseo Andalucia, on you way to the Plaza del Cabildo, following the 'Ruta Monumental'

Just northeast of the Cola del Embalse de Arcos Natural Area, is the Embalse de Bornos, which has its northeastern arm designated as a 630ha protected area. It is similar in flora and fauna to the Embalse de Arcos.

This embalse (reservoir), close to the hilltop town of Arcos de la Frontera, is worth a visit for its waterfowl, particularly in winter when there are many more birds here. It is also a stopping place for migratory birds. The area covers 120ha and includes the reservoir and small surrounding area.

Park the car on the highest floor of the underground car park under the Paseo de Andalucia at the entrance to the town. There is also a lower entrance to the car park on the Avenida Duque de Arcos which follows the river at the bottom of the escarpment.

Many hotel rooms in Arcos have magnificent views; some of the best are rooms and terrace from the Parador and the rooftop terrace at La Casa Grande. Hotels in the old town offer a magnificent location for walking around and taking in the village atmosphere, however parking can be challenging. There is limited parking in Plaza del Cabildo, or better at in the underground car park, at the entrance of the old town near Plaza de Espana access from Paseo de Andalucia.

One of Andalucia's most dramatically positioned pueblos blancos (white villages), Arcos balances atop a rocky limestone ridge, its whitewashed houses and stone castle walls stopping abruptly as a sheer cliff face plunges down to the river Guadalete below.

During its famous Semana Santa celebrations, the Toro de Aleluya, two bulls (toros) charge through the streets of the old town on Easter Sunday. In early August is the Fiesta de la Virgen de las Nieves, with flamenco and other live music in the Plaza del Cabildo.

One of the newer courses on the Costa de la Luz, it was  developed as an up-market golf and real estate community in conjunction with the Landmark Land Company (USA). The Golf Course and Hotel Cortijo Faín opened in 2006.
