In addition to the abundance of resort-style hotels, Conil de la Frontera also has many different self-catering accommodation options, including apartments and villas. Every year in May, after the first full moon, fishermen from towns on the Cadiz part of the Costa de la Luz, including Barbate, Zahara de los Atunes, Conil de la Frontera, and Tarifa, set up a complicated labyrinth of nets off the Atlantic coast, called the almadraba, to catch blue-fin tuna. This is a major social and gastronomic event, providing essential (if seasonal) work for fishermen, packing factories, restaurants along the coast.

The Festival of Nuestra Señora de Fátima in El Colorado is an annual event that blends religious devotion with festive celebration, creating a vibrant and heartfelt experience for both locals and visitors.

Lovers of tuna come from all over Spain to enjoy the various festivals and routes celebrating the almadraba season. The towns have their own Rutas del Atun, which list restaurants and tapas bars offering inventive, beautifully-presented atun de almadraba tapas at reasonable a set price, for example 4 euros; maps are available to show you where participating restaurants are.

Conil de la Frontera's bus station was officially opened on the 7th of November 2016. It's construction was overseen and carried out by the Junta de Andalucía ( Andalusian regional government) and the town hall in Conil, with an investment of 1.18 million euros. The station is conveniently located on Avenida Cañada Honda (Av. Cañada Honda.

Most hostals and hostels are located in the centre of this pueblo blanco (white village/town) town whereas apartments occupy the paseos lining the beaches. This doesn't mean to say that staying in the town's heart will jeopordise your beach holiday, quite the opposite. In Conil, whether staying in the old town or in primer linea (first line) you will most likely not be far from the stunning beach.

Conil is a small, lively beach town on the Costa de la Luz to the south of Cadiz city and near inland white village Vejer de la Frontera. It is a pretty, well-maintained town which is as ideal for a family stroll among the old streets, as for young people on a night out.

El Colorado is a small village to the north of Conil de la Frontera, situated on the N-340 coastal road. Since the construction of the A-48 motorway, heavy traffic has bypassed the village which has benefited and developed its own identity. Administratively El Colorado is a pedania (dependency) of Conil.

Playa Los Bateles is a continuation from the southern part of La Fontanilla and is the main emblamatic urban beach for Conil. Thanks to fairly strong winds here it is also popular with wind surfers partly because of the convenient car park.
