Estepona Golf district

Estepona Golf - Estepona districts

As the name suggests, the Estepona Golf district is a residential area of Estepona located around the Estepona Golf Club. For those particularly interested in what Estepona has to offer for golfers, in addition to the Estepona Golf Club, Estepona Golf district also features the Tee de Prácticas Municipal "La Dalena", a municipal driving range overlooked by the ruins of Torre de Arroyo Vaquero, a moorish watchtower.

Estepona Golf district is situated on the mountainside of the coast road (the A-7), with the Arroyo Vaquero stream and district of Arroyo Vaquero alongside it. It is located near to the commercial centre on the coast road, which has supermarkets such as the local Mercadona store and Aldi, as well as a choice of restaurants and other convenience stores. The district is only 13 kilometres (approximately 13 minutes by car) from Estepona Town Centre, which makes it convenient to visit the many restaurants, shops, and bars in the town.

Many residential urbanisations exist in the Estepona Golf district, such as Mirador del Golf, Aurea Villas, Green Golf Urbanisation, Sunny Siesta, and Aelca Aby Estepona. Many with panoramic views of Estepona Golf Club, the Sierra Bermeja mountains and the Mediterranean Sea. These residential properties and the golf course are perfectly integrated within a natural environment and with spectacular landscapes. While many urbanisations offer villas and apartments on the first line of golf, these private compounds also have community pools and gardens, providing leisure activities and relaxation opportunities.

In addition, a future up-market real estate development, The Ville, will offer residents and visitors the choice of hotels or tourist apartments, a residential area of up to 3,000 luxury homes, an entertainment and sports area as well as a lake with an artificial beach. The development, with an investment requirement of 1.2 billion euro, is the vision of veteran businessman, Juan José Hidalgo, who owns 2.3 million square metres of land in the Estepona Golf District and bordering on to the Arroya Vaquero and Guadalabón districts. Having acquired Estepona Golf Club in 2023 and transforming it into a meticulously prepared course that resonates well with players of all abilities, Hidalgo will  expand the area with several new golf courses as well as a 400,000 square metres dedicated sports area. The sports area will have football pitches, tennis and padel courts, indoor exercise facilities, and many other sporting and keep-fit choices. The development will also offer Estepona residents and tourists’ easy access to cinemas and continuing to support the entertainment industry, there are plans for a large recording studio for television series and accommodation for filming staff.

For visitors to the Estepona district properties are available for short—and long-term rent through local Agentes Inmobiliarios (real estate agents) and vacation rental platforms such as Airbnb and Booking.com, enabling visitors to enjoy the area's beauty within a settled community. In addition, these inmobiliarios offer properties for sale in settled or newly developed urbanisations within the district.

Beach Clubs

Alcazaba Lagoon hosts a private beach lagoon, along with The Beach at La Reserva de Sotogrande, they are one of the few in Europe. Alcazaba Lagoon was formerly known as Alcazaba Hills and was developed by the same team that built the frontline Alcazaba Beach development to the east of Estepona town. Perhaps the most unusual and attractive element of Alcabaza is its white sandy beach and 14,000 square metre artificial lagoon, ideal for swimming, kayaking and other water sports in a safe and clean environment. Initially, the use of the lagoon was reserved for the residents of Alcabaza, however, since 2022 the lagoon has been open to visitors for a daily fee.

Estepona Golf district offers the combination of residential communities and a popular golf course surrounded by nature with spectacular views from all sides.
