Players to look out for the 2026 season:
| Camilo Castagnola | At only 22 years old, the young Argentinian has participated in the Sotogrande cups for the last 3 years, including the Copa de Oro, and two Copas de Plata, all of which he played under Dubai's national team. Now he is preparing to be the best new Andalucian polo player. |
| Bartolomé Castagnola | Finalist for the Copa de Oro in 2024, and the oldest of the Castagnola brothers, he has joined forces with Amanara team, and for the first time, he will be participating in the higher ranges of HandiCaps. He is known to be a player that is always reliable, and turns up in key moments. |
| Tomás Panelo | One of the biggest investments of the polo world, Tomás has a record of winning titles, including the Polo Open for the United States. The last time he was in Sotogrande, was in 2022, but this year he thinks it is the time to reach a higher level. |
| Pablo 'Polito' Pieres | After 3 years, Pablo will be returning to play in Sotogrande, to be one of the last cups that he wins, as he won the Copa de Plata in 2021, and was a finalist for the Copa de Oro. |
| Hilario Ulloa | Hilario was the champion of the Copa de Plata in 2023, with nine handicaps (goals), and as always, he aspires to gain another important title. |
| Pablo Mac Donough | Finalist for the Copa de Oro in 2023, and Copa de Plata in 2024, both with MB Polo team, Pablo will lead the team again this year. |
14th June- Don Diego, Inés Rosales and Coca Cola Cup
Six teams of up to 8 goals handicap took part in these tournaments which ran concurrently with Copa Joseph McMicking Don Diego.
La Magarita were crowned winners of the Copa Don Diego, after defeating Delta Defence, 8 to 5 in a match played on field 2 of Los Pinos.
La Margarita consisted of Katja Grauwiler (0 goals), Juan Gavira (1 goal), Cristian Chaves (3 goals), and Gerardo Mazzini (4 goals). Total 8 HCP.
Delta Defence consisted of Ivan Weiss (0 goals), Tobías Ussher (1 goal), Martín Di Paola (4 goals), and Felipe Kelly (3 goals). Total 8 HCP.
1896 Polo were crowned winners of the Inés Rosales after securing an 8 to 7 victory over Almasanta.
1896 Polo consisted of Ahmed Kadiri (0 goals), Laurent Desmas (0 goals), Álvaro Ara (3 goals), and Segundo Fernández Llorente (5 goals). Total 8 HCP.
Almasanta consisted of Alejandro Cernadas (-1 goal), Manuel López (3 goals), Santiago Cernadas (6 goals), and Joaquín Castellví (0 goals). Total 8 HCP.
Jolly Rogers were the winners of the Copa Coca Cola which was played as a 'round robin' between three teams. They secured the title after competing against Almigos Dusseldorf, and MF Polo.
Jolly Roger consisted of Niclas Johansson (0 goals), Jack Spilsbury (4 goals), Martín Iturraspe (4 goals), and Tirso Otharan (0 goals). Total 8 HCP.
MF Polo consisted of Kaveh Atrak (0 goals), Mario Gómez (3 goals), Dante Castagnola (4 goals), and Mustapha Fasinro (0 goals). Total 7 HCP
4th June to 14th June - Copa Joseph McMicking (Don Diego)
Legacy Polo Team were crowned champions of the Copa Joseph McMicking Don Diego against Adrenalina la Esperanza by 9 to 8. The final showed close scorings from both teams, but Legacy appeared to be struggling at the start of the game with looser defence, allowing Adrenalina to score some powerful goals in the first few chukkas. However, Legacy found their rhythm in the second half, narrowing the gap before dominating the final chukka to bring back a huge victory.
Legacy Polo Team consisted of Cedric Schweri (0 goals), Isaac Vergnon (-1 goal), Bautista Riglos (8 goals), and Tomás Astelarra (3 goals). Total 8 HCP.
- Bautista Riglos was the top scorer for the team with 8 goals and was named the MVP (Most Valuable Player) of the final.
- Cedric Schweri received the Best Patron Player.
Adrenalina Esperanza consisted of Kevin Korst (1 goal), Martijn van Scherpenzeel (0 goals), Santos Iriarte (4 goals), and Nicolás Ruiz Guiñazú (3 goals). Total 8 HCP.
26th May to May 31st - Copa KE & Copa One4One
Adrenalina La Esperanza were crowned champions of the Copa Ke Sotogrande on Sunday, May 31, 2026, after defeating Dany's Polo by 7 to 5. The final was played on field 3 of Los Pinos, where Adrenalina managed to turn themselves around, after Dany's Polo dominated for a large part of the afternoon.
Adrenalina La Esperanza consisted of Kevin Korst (1 goal), Martijn Van Scherpenzeel (0 goals), Santos Iriarte (4 goals), and Nicolás Ruiz Guiñazú (3 goals). Total 8 HCP.
Nicolás Ruiz Guiñazú was the top scorer for the team with 4 goals and was named the MVP (Most Valuable Player) of the final.
Martijn Van Scherpenzeel was recognised as the Best Patron Player.
Dany's Polo consisted of Tanya Dany, (-1 goal), Emiliano Bernal (2 goals), Diogo Gallego (3 goals), and Martín Iturraspe (4 goals). Total 8 HCP.
1896 Polo were crowned winners of the Copa One4One, which was played as a 'Round Robin' between three teams.
They secured the title after defeating both of their rivals, La Margarita Polo Team Amsterdam and Heritage Polo Team.
1896 Polo consisted of Ahmed Kadiri (0 goals), Grace Cariss (1 goal), Roberto Iturrioz (3 goals), and Segundo Fernández Llorente (4 goals). Total 8 HCP
La Margarita Polo Team Amsterdam consisted of Katja Grauwiler (0 goals), Milan Venkataraman (1 goal), Jamie Le Hardy (3 goals), and Gerardo Mazzini (4 goals). Total 8 HCP.
Heritage Polo Team consisted of Grzegorz Pawlick (-1 goal), Kaveh Atrak (0 goals), Luis Benmergui (3 goals), and Mario Gómez (3 goals). Total 6 HCP.
19th May to 24th May - Tourism San Roque, Covetsol, & Welcome Cup
Six teams of up to 8 goals handicap took part in both tournaments which ran concurrently. Dany's Polo Team were crowned champions of the Welcome Cup, after beating 1896 Polo by 11 to 10 played on field 2 of Los Pinos. Captained by Diogo Gallego.
Dany's Polo Team consisted of Taya Dany (-1 goal), Emiliano Bernal (2), Diogo Gallego (3 goals), Martín Iturraspe (4). Total 8 HCP, 9 Goals.
Los Schatzies were crowned the champions of the Tourism San Roque Cup, after scoring 9-4.5 against Legacy: Jella Hezer (0 goals), Hugo Lewis (3 goals), Nicolás Ruiz Guiñazú, Maximiliano Malacalz (2 goals). Total 8 HCP 10 goals.
La Magarita Polo Team Amsterdam won the Covetsol Cup against Heritage Polo Team by 9 to 4.5.
Los Schatzies consisted of Jella Herzer (0 goals), Hugo Lewis (3 goals), Nicolás Ruiz Guiñazú (3 goals), and Maximiliano Malacalza (2 goals). Team 8 HCP. 10 goals
