Escuelas de San Isidoro

Escuelas de San Isidoro

The school buildings are named after the Count of Padul, who ordered their construction: 'San Isidoro' and 'Don Isidoro'. Don Isidoro Pérez de Herrasti y Pérez de Herrasti was born in Granada on 1 September 1866. He studied law, married Doña Rosario de Solís and they had a son, also named Isidoro, who died aged three. The Count died on 6 June 1935. He inherited various titles from his ancestors, and on 16 June 1924, he was granted the title of Count by King Alfonso XIII at the request of the town council of Padul. The buildings are solidly constructed from exposed brick, are elegant and have stood the test of time for over seventy-five years.
