Luxury Beachfront Rentals

One of Andalucía’s main attractions is its 800km of coastline, much of it beaches. Therefore one can find many luxury beachfront rentals along the coasts of the Costa del Sol, Costa de la Luz, Costa de Almería and Costa Tropical. Zahara de los Atunes Beaches

Although Zahara de los Atunes lies within the municipal district of Barbate, these beaches are so good that they deserve their own dedicated page. Playa de Zahara de los Atunes is one of the most well-known beaches in the area, and beyond. Famous for its 6.3km-long shoreline of virtually untouched sand, this beach stretches from the little fishing village of Zahara de Los Atunes all the way south to Cabo de Plata.

Cadiz Museum incorporates both the Fine Arts & Archaeology museums. Also of interest are the municipal historical museum, the Cathedral Museum, Puppet Museum, Lithographic museum, the Museum of the Cortes or Constitution and Casa Pinillos a cultural space for temporary exhibitions.

Basilica of San Juan de Dios, Granada

Located on the street of the same name, the church and hospital of San Juan de Dios are beautiful Baroque buildings well worth a visit and easily accesible, just off the Gran Vía.

Torrenueva Costa

Torrenueva Costa is a municipal district created in October 2018 and formerly part of Motril. It has three districts called El Varadero, La Chucha and Carchuna. The name Torrenueva was taken from a seventeenth century watchtower in the area. It has about 3200 inhabitants.

History - Prehistory

Andalucia, with its extensive coast and proximity to Africa, just across the Strats of Gibraltar - was often one of the first areas to be explored and settled by new tribes. For this reason, the region is rich with archaeological remains going back millennia, some better preserved and explained than others. Many towns - even small ones - have their own museums displaying the artefacts which were uncovered in the vicinity, whether from tombs, caves, dolmens or other structures or dwelling places.

Villages

The following villages surround the park, and all offer accommodation. They are spectacularly situated, with mountain backdrops, and are largely unspoiled due to their rural location. Adelante Andalucia

Adalante Andalucia is an Andalucia political party formed in 2020 as a coalition of IU-LV (Izquerda Unida and Los Verdes) and Podemos (until 2021) and Anticapitalistas Andalucía (since 2021) both lead by Teresa Rodríguez.

Aqua Velis Park Torre del Mar

One of the largest, splashiest water-parks in the province, located in Torre del Mar. There are 21 different rides to choose from, including some super-fast slides (an 80m-high kamikaze), soft foam slides, dinghy river ride and a paddling pool for young children (and parents!). Not forgetting the wave pool and lagoon.

Churchill

John Spencer-Churchill, Nephew of Sir Winston Churchill was an English painter who once lived in the Molino de Rosario, situated next to the church in Plaza San Miguel. Born in London in 1909, the budding artiste headed to Spain during his early adulthood, where, in 1934, he married a Spanish artist called Angela Culme Seymour.

Hotels in Huelva

Huelva is a port city which holds an important place in the history of Andalucia, as the area from where Columbus sailed to American in 1492. In the 19th and early 20th century, it was an important mining centre, and some colonial buildings and quays from that era remain, including the Muelle de Riotinto.

The marshland nature reserve of the Marismas de Isla Cristina is situated between the northern edge of Isla Cristina village and the Carreras estuary to the east and Ayamonte and the Guadiana estuary to the west. Within its 2.1 sq km is a variety of habitats and an impressive range of birds.
