Bel Air - Estepona districts

Bel Air (also written as Bel-Air or Belair) is a residential area set on the mountainside between Arroyo del Saladillo to the east and Camino de Brijan to the west, in the direction of Estepona. It forms part of what is known as the New Golden Mile—the sought-after coastal stretch between Estepona and San Pedro de Alcántara on the Costa del Sol.

The area is characterised by natural surroundings, tree-lined avenues, and a peaceful, family-friendly atmosphere. Residents enjoy access to a wide range of amenities, including tennis and padel clubs, equestrian centres, swimming pools, and landscaped gardens. Bel Air is also conveniently close to several renowned golf courses, such as Los Flamingos, El Paraíso, and Estepona Golf, making it a popular choice for both locals and visitors.

Although Bel Air is primarily a residential area and does not offer many hotels within the district itself, visitors are still well catered for. One notable option is Exe Estepona Thalasso and Spa – Adults Only (2006), located on Camino de Brijan a four-star hotel home to the largest Thalasso centre in Andalucía. More>

SPORTS AND FITNESS

In addition to several nearby golf courses, Bel Air is home to the Bel-Air Tennis and Padel Club on Calle del Tenis, which offers tennis and padel courts, as well as a fitness centre. Founded in 1974 by Teo Barrio and managed since 1999 by his son, Sergio Gomez, a former professional tennis player, this family-run club provides programmes for both children and adults of all levels, from beginners to semi-professionals. The club is known for its welcoming atmosphere, excellent facilities, and highly qualified coaches.

Bel Air Gym, located in the Sun Hill urbanisation, offers a range of fitness classes and personal training, including innovative workouts using electrostimulation vests that deliver targeted muscle impulses. A public basketball court is also available on Calle del Tenis.

LOCAL SERVICES

Within Bel Air, visitors have easy access to a wide range of supermarkets and essential services. These include the Spanish family-run Mercadona on Avenida de Bel-Air, which also features an Iberdrola electric vehicle charging station, the German discount supermarket Lidl on Avenida Puerta del Mar, and local grocery stores such as Supeco within the Bel Air urbanisation and Wan Xin Bazar, a Chinese supermarket and general store on Calle Camomila. BUS SERVICE

For public buses to Estepona, there is a stop called Flamingos Golf located between Mercadona and Lidl on Calle Camomila.
